The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Tatjana Mati, announced that in today’s session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Decree amending the Decree on the offer of a replacement trip for a tourist trip which has been canceled or not performed due to an illness. caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus was adopted.

Tatjana Mati stated that the new situation, which was caused by the coronavirus pandemic, led to massive cancellations of tourist trips, which were partially or fully paid on March 15, 2020, regardless of the execution period, according to the website of the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Telecommunications.

“In the interests of the passengers themselves, and to protect the actors of the tourism industry and the survival of numerous agencies and thousands of jobs, the competent Ministry of Tourism has proposed an amendment to the regulation. December 2022,” Matieva said. .

Matieva added that if a traveler decides to reimburse the amount he paid for an unrealized trip or cancels a replacement trip, a company, another legal entity or entrepreneur, who as a tour organizer would sell a tourist trip of Article 2 of this decree, must return the funds paid no later than February 1, 2023.

The possibility of issuing a replacement travel offer, under the terms of this decree, also applies to excursions, the announcement states.
